The participation in the Conference is free of charge but registration is obligatory. Participants are kindly requested to register online and also provide information on their travel schedule to help the host make the necessary arrangements for transfers.

Please note that registration will be closed once the number of participants reaches 300. The deadline for online registration is 2 October 2015.

Working Languages

The working languages of the Summit will be English & French. Additional interpretation in Korean, Chinese and Japanese will be available during the Opening & Closing Ceremony as well as throughout the Sessions.



In order to enter the Republic of Korea, all participants are required to present their valid passports with appropriate entry visas, except for participants from countries that have a Visa Waiver Agreement with the Republic of Korea. Participants are advised to obtain their visas in advance if required.

Venues, Accreditation and Badges

All participants are requested to collect their badges at the registration desks. The participants shall need their online registration confirmation in order to collect their conference badges at the registration counters on 13 October (14:00-20:00) and 14 October (9:00-14:00) located in the main venue, the Lotte Hotel Ulsan.    

Participants must wear the badge in order to attend the sessions and other events taking place during the Conference.


Social Programme and Technical Visit

The Conference will host a social programme for the participants and includes cultural performances every evening. Further detailed information will be provided in due course to all registered participants.

Technical visit 1 focuses on Ulsan´s rich cultural and industrial heritage and can still be booked at the registration counters. The second technical visit is heading to the Yeongnam Alps and takes the participants on a trekking tour to enjoy the beauty of Ulsan´s surrounding mountains. For this tour registration is closed.

An additional city tour for participants’ partners or accompanying person is scheduled on 14 and 15 October.

UNWTO is not responsible for accommodation arrangements. Booking accommodation is the responsibility of each participant and we kindly ask the participants to make their reservations before 2 October 2014. Arrivals and Departures

Participants can use the Incheon International Airport in Seoul, the Gimhae International Airport and the Airport in Ulsan.

The hosts will make arrangements to welcome participants upon arrival at the Incheon International Airport.. Please look for the “2nd UNWTO Euro-Asian Mountain Resorts Conference” sign at the gate. More detailed information on airport arrangements will be provided in due course.

Courtesy shuttle services will also be provided between the Ulsan International Airport, Ulsan KTX Station and the main venue during the Conference. In order to facilitate the arrival/departure procedures, all participants are required to provide information on their flight schedules during the registration process or inform the Secretariat accordingly.

C.       Ulsan Airport  à  Lotte Hotel

Korean Air and Asiana Airlines operate 9 scheduled flights daily from Gimpo Airport in Seoul. Participants arriving at Incheon Airport must calculate 3 hours between arrival in Incheon and departure from Gimpo Airport. The AREX train connects Incheon and Gimpo every 10 minutes and takes around 30 minutes (3,550 KRW/ EUR 3). Shuttle buses take about the same time and cost 7,500 KRW (EUR 6).

Shuttle services will be provided from Ulsan Airport to the Lotte Hotel in Ulsan. You can also take Bus 453 and 1402 which both take you to the Lotte Hotel. Taxis take about 30-40 minutes and charge approx. 8,000 KRW (EUR 6) to the venue.


Usefull Information

A vaccination certificate is not required for entry into the Republic of Korea.

The Korean peninsula has four distinct seasons. Summers are hot and humid, while winters are often snowy and cold. During the Conference period in October, Korea will have cool, dry and sunny weather with cobalt blue skies. It is the ideal season to visit Korea.

The average temperature ranges from 10 to 20°C. Cardigans and/or light jackets are recommended.

Currency and Banking
The official currency in the Republic of Korea is the Won (KRW). The exchange rate of EUR 1 is approximately equivalent to KRW 1,243 (as of 1 July 2015). Currency exchange is available at banks, airports and major hotels in Korea. ATM services are also available at most hotels in Korea including the Conference venue.

Tipping is not expected in most Korean restaurants and hotels.

Credit Cards
Most shopping malls and big stores, hotels and restaurants in Ulsan accept major international credit cards. However, it is recommended to carry some cash since some small establishments and stores may not accept credit cards.

The power supply in the Republic of Korea is 220V/60 Hz (two round pins). Adaptors and converters may be needed if you are traveling from countries that use 110V or other types of plugs.

Internet Access
Free Wi-Fi service will be available in the meeting rooms and the lobby of the Lotte Hotel as well as in the rooms of the recommended hotels.

Local & International Phone Calls
For international inbound calls, the country code is 82, and the area code for Ulsan is 52. For international outbound calls 001, 002, or 00700 should be dialled before the country code and the phone number.

Mobile Phones
Mobile phones and/or other devices using GSM frequencies do not function in Korea. Supported protocols include: CDMA (800/1800), iDEN (800) and WCDMA (2100).

3G (WCDMA) devices will function in the country unless roaming services are blocked by their local service providers. Delegations are advised to contact their local service providers to ensure that the roaming service is not blocked.

For 2G devices, participants should contact their current wireless service providers to ensure that Korean service providers such as KT (KTF), SK Telecom, LG Uplus and KT Powertel are included in their primary roaming list and advised to apply for roaming services before departure.
