Within this context, the Itaipu Tourism Complex is the second most popular attraction in the region. It is managed by a not-for-profit organization and has earned praise for its innovative sustainable management model. There are eight attractions and services on offer that generate over BRL 15 million yearly. This entire amount is aimed at operational sustainability, an increase in attractiveness and time spent by visitors, as well as to fund projects and actions aimed at territorial development.

These projects and actions are guided by six primary objectives, namely: Promotion of Education and Culture, Research and Innovation Incentives, Generation of Employment and Income, Improved Health and Quality of Life, Environmental Preservation, Establishment of Partnerships aimed at Development, Institutional Relations.
