1 February 2019 Córdoba Tourism Agency Obtains UNWTO.QUEST Certification
The Córdoba Tourism Agency (Agencia Córdoba Turismo) has received the World Tourism Organization’s UNWTO.QUEST Certification, whereby the specialized agency of the United Nations responsible for the promotion of responsible, sustainable and accessible tourism for all, promotes the strengthening of the institutional capacities of destination management organizations (DMOs) and public-private integration in destinations.

21 January 2019 International Tourist Arrivals Reach 1.4 billion Two Years Ahead of Forecasts
2018 totalled 1.4 billion international tourist arrivals (+6%), consolidating 2017 strong results and proving to be the second strongest year since 2010 Middle East (+10%) and Africa (+7%) grew above the world average while Asia and the Pacific and Europe grew at 6% For 2019, UNWTO forecasts a 3-4% increase, in line with the historical growth trend Madrid, Spain, 21 January 2019 - International tourist arrivals grew 6% in 2018, totalling 1.4 billion according to the latest UNWTO World Tourism Barometer. UNWTO’s long term forecast issued in 2010 indicated the 1.4 billion mark would be reached in 2020, yet the remarkable growth of international arrivals in recent years has brought it two years ahead.

Madrid, Spain, 3 January 2019 - The World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) has granted UNWTO.QUEST Certification to the Punta del Este Convention Bureau, which became the first destination management organization in the world to receive this certification.

Madrid, Spain, 27 December 2018 – The World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), together with the European Travel Commission (ETC) launched a new report on health tourism. Part of their joint research programme, the study is the first attempt to set a coherent conceptualization of health tourism and define the motivations behind travellers looking for health-related services.
